Well Hello There!
Well hello there! My name is Steve Sandles, I’m a visual effects artist and techincal director working out of Dorset, trying to turn my visual eye to Photography.
I have always been a visual person, always interested in the details, though also able to see the bigger picture. From a young age it was clear that I didn’t see things the same as others. Most people see a tree, I see the texture of the bark, the variation in the colours of the leaves, the way light and shadow play in describing the form as a whole, but also the details from leaf to leaf, branch to branch.
So it’s no surprise that I had a strong interest in art and design, including photography. My Father was a sports photographer in his spare time, and I would occasionally help him in the dark room. But I am of the digital age!
Today we have phones capable of taking some quite stunning pictures (at the time of press, all the pictures on here were taken with a mobile phone), and digital cameras even more. This is just technology though, it still needs an artists eye, a photographers eye, to make the image, to see the details, but also have a vision for the whole composition.
I’m really only just starting out on my photographic adventure, and I hope you can join me as I explore different avenues, from the tiny to the huge, and everything in between.
This is only the start!
